Great end to our promotion winning season. 8-1 win. Well done to everybody who has contributed to our promotion push.

Ladies 3’s 9-1 Dronfield 1’s
Difficult last game for the ladies 3s today against the top of the league, with some players missing leaving us with just 10 in the 2nd half. Even though the score was 9-1, we still came out smiling and a mid table finish is something to be proud of with everything considered. Well done girls!

Ladies 1’s 5-1 Wakefield Ladies 3’s
Awesome performance from everyone who played today for the Ladies 1’s against Wakefield, a great 5-1 win!! Thanks for all the hard work, on to the next season!!! Special thanks to Liz Pryde-Fillingham who has spent the last 20 years playing for Dragons. Today was her last game as she is retiring from playing hockey.

Well done to the girls U16s today who made it all the way to the play offs, they were buzzing with how well they played.

Would like to say a big well done to the U12 boys today who had an awesome last tournament in Leeds and won 4, lost one and secured promotion into the next division for next season!

Congratulations mens 1XI finishing the season in style and becoming Yorkshire Premier division champions! Thank you for your efforts this season guys, it’s been a pleasure to play in such a great team. The men’s 1’s have scored an amazing 142 goals this season and have ended the season on an outstanding goal difference of 95.

  • Ladies 1s  0:2  Sheffield University Bankers Ladies 1s
    Unlucky loss for the Ladies 1s against Bankers today, worked hard but unfortunately didn’t get the result we wanted.
  • Ladies 2’s 7:0 Pudsey 1’s
    Great win today for the ladies 2s. Secured promotion with 2 games to go. Well done everyone on the pitch and everyone who has played for the 2s this season. Great result and thanks coach – Kelly Singleton Pryde-Fillingham.
  • Ladies 3’s 1:2 Grasshoppers 1’s
    Unfortunate 2 – 1 loss and 5 – 1 loss to Grasshoppers for the ladies 3s. Both games were well fought but we were just unlucky, especially today with no goalkeeper and a bit of a mixed team!
  • Men’s 1’s 4:1 Leeds 3’s
    Good work mens 1s, important 4-1 win at top of the table Leeds. Bring on Harrogate tomorrow for another win and another step towards promotion!!
  • Men’s 2’s 5:4 Chapeltown 2’s
    For those interested in the second teams potential regarding promotion…. Acomb lost today though so we are in a better position than expected., albeit with two very tough games to finish off. Fingers crossed!!
  • Men’s 3’s 2:0 University of Leeds 3’s
    Well deserved 2-0 win for men’s 3’s today. We’ve jumped up to 9th in the league today, not safe but a very happy team and a clean sheet for our defence and keeper Chris. Good goals from Danny Moakes and Mike Pogson saw off Uni of Leeds and allowed us to jump them and Lindum in the table
  • Men’s 4’s 3:2 Wakefield 6’s
    They went to Wakefield and only won! Arron got one goal and the evergreen Paul Barker weighed in with 2 to make the final score 3-2 to Huddersfield.

Sunday 28th February

    Really happy with the men’s 1st performance today, another step closer to promotion, great game boys and another load of goals to add to the 120 already scored this season. One more game to go….thanks to all those that came to support

    Junior Development

  • What a great way to finish the U10 boys season. A very difficult tournament for a lot of newcomers! But big well done all for finishing with a win! Some excellent hockey boys and you’re all developing into lovely little players. And a special thank you to Molly Holmes who came to help with the running of the team and the umpiring.
  • Well done dragons u14 boys this morning. Won 2 , Draw 2. Great to watch!!

    Fantastic win today for the ladies 2s. Umpires gave a penalty flick against us, sent 3 of our players off. Great team performance one and all.
  • Ladies 3’s 4-0 Slazengers 3’s
    4 – 0 win for ladies 3s against Slaz! Huge thank you to Charlotte Griffiths, Emerald and our very own Liz Gill for stepping in to save the day, even if Liz did knock one of their players out!

    Good battle from the men’s 3’s/4’s half-term amalgam team against 2nd in the league but we came off second best in a 6-1 loss.

Another 10-0 win for the ladies 3s! Great performances again from our juniors, special mentions for our man of the match Fran Bridge and Charlotte Griffiths who made her debut today for the ladies teams.
University of Leeds Men’s 2’s 4-3 HDHC Men’s 2’s
Men’s 2’s lost against Leeds Uni 2’s. Extremely disappointed. 4-3 loss against second bottom. A game that we should have won and needed to win.

    Great 8 – 1 win for the ladies 2s. 3 points in the bag, let’s concentrate and get 3 more tomorrow.
  • Ladies 3’s 2-1 Sheffield Hallam 4’s
    After a rather shaky first half for the ladies 3, we managed to pull ourselves together and beat Sheffield Hallam 4s 2 – 1
  • Men’s 1’s 7-4 Grimsby 1’s
    Mens 1s 7-4 win at Grimsby to stay top of the league. Scrappy performance but important 3 points. We’ll done guys!
  • Men’s 2’s 2-1 Acomb 1’s
    2-1 win to the second team!!!! This means we are in the race for promotion so it’s going to make for an exciting battle over the coming weeks. Man of the match just went to Jonny Beaumont after a three way tie for it with Sandy Haigh and Jacob Barker. Well done lads!
    DoD went to Bob McAllum (keeper) for getting sent off for five. Our two goals came from Craig Foster and Arron Smith.
  • Men’s 3’s 1-1 Sheffield University Bankers 6
    1-1 draw away at 4th place bankers. Good game and good result for the men’s thirds. A really well spirited match and everyone put their all in again. A nice finish on our goal from Danny Moakes set up by Paul Barker.

Sunday 31st January

  • Ladies 2’s 4-1 Colne Valley 1’s
    Excellent win today for ladies 2s. 4 – 1 v colne valley. A 6 point weekend, to keep us in the promotion hunt. Well played everyone, we played as a team and we needed the legs of those subs today.

    Not sure where to start! 2 nil up in 5 minutes, all looking good, only to be 4-2 down with minutes remaining. Scored 2 goals in a minute and nearly won it but….. I will take an excellent draw after such a toppsy turvy game. Well battled to the end ladies 2’s

    Men’s 3’s Lost 2-0 to top of the Rotherham today, but we gave them a proper game and they looked relieved to come away with the win.
    Some hard work from everyone today and it took them 60 minutes to get their first. Proud of how my guys played today. Onwards to tomorrow’s game against Leeds Adel.

The 2nd team had a great get together feast before our game today after turning up a full 2hr15mins early however the bonding, banter and ahem water, didn’t help us through the game. 1-0 loss to bottom of the table. Let’s focus on the good work of the first half and take that forward boys!
